GP Police Arrested Motorist for DUII after Traffic Complaint on Cullison Road
Grants Pass Police arrested a motorist for impaired driving following a weekend traffic complaint in the south part of the city.
According to the Police Department, officers pulled over a 2011 Toyota Venza driven by a woman they identified as 48-year-old Monica Marie Gutierrez at a home in the 2100-block of Cullison Road late Saturday night.
Police said they contacted Gutierrez at her residence after a citizen reported she was "highly intoxicated" and driving. She reportedly struck a fence at the edge of her property and then confessed to consuming alcoholic beverages before driving.
Gutierrez performed poorly in field sobriety tests, but refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained and she was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center for a legal blood draw that documented a high level of impairment.
Gutierrez was lodged in jail for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. She was also cited for Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample.
