GP Police Nabbed Motorist for Drugged Driving after SE N Street Stop

Grants Pass Police arrested a motorist for drugged driving early yesterday after a traffic stop on the southeast side of the city.

According to the Police Department, officers pulled over a blue sedan driven by a 31-year-old woman near the corner of SE N Street and Rose Place on Tuesday at about 3:45 a.m..

Police said they stopped the suspect after she committed several traffic violations on a public highway. Upon contact, they said she displayed several indicators of impairment from a controlled substance. She performed poorly in field sobriety tests and was transported to the Josephine County Jail where she provided breath and urine samples before undergoing a drug recognition evaluation.

A search warrant was executed and a white powdery substance, drug paraphernalia and marijuana were found inside her car.

The suspect was booked into jail for Driving Under the Influence of Controlled Substances. Her vehicle was impounded and her dog was taken to the Animal Shelter.
