GP Police Evicted 2 Park Campers and Arrested Another for Local Warrant

Grants Pass police evicted two campers for ordinance violations and arrested one other for an outstanding warrant in two city parks on Wednesday.

At Baker Park, officers were performing a patrol check when they observed a man driving his vehicle and they knew his driving privileges had been suspended. The man was cited for Driving While Suspended, No Insurance and Failure to Register Vehicle. He was also trespassed from the park for 30 days.

At Fruitdale Park, a camper was cited for Buffer Zone Violation and Scattering Rubbish. He was issued a 30-day exclusion. A total of 17 campsites at the park were posted for Illegal Camping and an e-mail was sent to the United Community Action Network (UCAN).

Also at Fruitdale Park, a man was arrested on a Josephine County warrant for Contempt of Court after he was contacted for an observed ordinance violation. He was cited to appear in court and released from custody.
