OSP Jailed Two Jackson County Men after Weekend Pursuit in North Valley Area

The Oregon State Police jailed two Jackson County men for multiple crimes after they led troopers on a weekend pursuit in the North Valley area.

OSP reports troopers attempted a traffic stop on a Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 32-year-old Central Point man near the intersection of Merlin Avenue and Pleasant Valley Road on Friday at 5:53 p.m..

Troopers said the motorist refused to yield and fled, but a pursuit was not initiated. During an investigation, they said the driver and passenger were identified which led to their apprehension later in the day. The arrest location was not disclosed.

The driver was lodged at the Josephine County Jail for Felony Attempt to Elude Police, Reckless Driving, Driving While Suspended and a Felony Parole Violation. The 21-year-old male passenger from Medford who shared the same last name as the driver was lodged in jail for Hindering Prosecution.

Both men were being held without bail while a 54-year-old male passenger was not arrested. The Volkswagen was impounded.
