OSP Seeking Driver of Jeep Who Caused Wreck on Interstate 5 near Wolf Creek

The Oregon State Police was looking for the driver of a Jeep who caused a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 5 in northern Josephine County yesterday.

According to OSP, troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of I-5 near milepost 76 on Thursday at about 3:30 p.m..

Troopers said a preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a black Jeep recklessly cut off a semi-truck driven by a 33-year-old Gold Beach man who slammed on his brakes and swerved into the adjacent lane and struck a Lexus driven by a 53-year-old Portland woman. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

Both victims reported that driver of the Jeep took off at a high rate of speed and law enforcement was unable to locate them.

The damaged Lexus was towed into Grants Pass, but the semi-truck was able to continue on its way.
