GP Police Arrested Motorist for DUII after Complaint from Concerned Driver

Grants Pass Police arrested a motorist for impaired driving last night following a complaint called in by a fellow motorist in the downtown area.

The Police Department reports officers eventually pulled over a white pickup driven by 36-year-old Cory Dean Picotte near the corner of SW 6th and L streets on Monday at about 10:45 p.m..

Police said a fellow motorist called Picotte in as a traffic complaint due to his failing to maintain a travel lane, almost striking light poles and buildings. The caller stated they had been following the suspect from Redwood Highway at the city limits into the downtown area.

After officers stopped Picotte, they said he showed signs of impairment and he admitted to consuming alcohol before driving. The suspect performed poorly in field sobriety tests, was placed into custody and taken to the Grants Pass Sobering Center where he provided a positive breath sample.

Cory Picotte was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. He was cited to appear in court and released. His pickup was released to his brother.
