GP Police Arrested Man on Warrant after He Followed Family Around Walmart

Grants Pass Police arrested a man on an outstanding warrant after he caused a weekend disturbance at Walmart.

According to the Police Department, officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at the store on NE Terry Lane on Sunday shortly after 9 a.m..

Police said 54-year-old Charles Wayne Burton followed a family around Walmart for approximately 20 minutes, making them extremely uncomfortable. They said the suspect was driving a store scooter when he followed a woman and her mother to the parking lot.

When approached by the woman's boyfriend, Burton said he was waiting for someone and he walked away.

Charles Burton was contacted back inside the store and he was found to be wanted on a Josephine County warrant for Probation Violation. He was lodged in jail on a no-bail detainer and he was trespassed from Walmart.
