Deputies and State Troopers Jailed Man for Hit-and-Run Crash Causing Injury

The Josephine County Sheriff's Office -- assisted by the Oregon State Police -- jailed a man for multiple felony-level crimes following a weekend motor vehicle accident in south Grants Pass.

The Sheriff's Office reports 44-year-old Michael Robert Warren surrendered to deputies and state troopers at his parents' home in the 1200-block of Rogue River Highway on Saturday at 5:50 p.m..

Details about the incident were sketchy, but deputies said Warren was involved in a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident that resulted in injuries to at least one person on Saturday morning. The suspect reportedly threatened people with a pipe before fleeing the scene of the crash. No other details about the incident were available.

Warren reportedly called OSP later in the day and said he wanted to turn himself in. Law enforcement went to his parents' residence and placed him into custody.

Michael Warren was lodged at the Josephine County Jail on charges of Felony 2nd-Degree Assault, Felony Hit-and-Run, Felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing and Reckless Driving. He was being held without bail.
