Page Mountain Snow Park Access Difficult Due to Damaged Grayback Road

The Page Mountain Snow Park is open for winter recreation, but it could be difficult to get there due to a damaged road.

The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest reports damage to the Grayback-Happy Camp Road -- also known as Forest Road 48 -- on the Wild Rivers Ranger District has made it unsafe to plow snow this winter.

Forest officials said the snow park will remain open to use, but access will not be maintained at this time. A significant slough near milepost 6 has reduced travel to one lane. Please use extreme caution if attempting to access the park.

Officials said there will be no maintenance conducted this winter on the road. The road failures are under contract to be repaired, but work will likely not begin until this spring. Until then, the Page Mountain Snow Park has very limited access.

If you have any questions, please call the Wild Rivers Ranger District at (541)-592-4000.
