GP School District Partnering with Redwood Foundation for New "Early Learning Fund"

The Grants Pass School District is partnering with the Redwood Foundation in establishing the "Grants Pass Early Learning Fund" to support the early learning program in District 7.

Early learning programs do not receive state funding like K-12 education. These programs for preschool-aged children are generally funded through grants, donations or tuition. The Redwood Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.

The vision is to build an Early Learning program that promotes positive, healthy parent/child connections, access to community resources, early learning opportunities for families and eventual preschool. School District 7 is weaving a tapestry of care and opportunity for children and families in Grants Pass. Every child thrives with access to community resources and early childhood education.

The mission is to create opportunities through free parent/child interactive play groups. Your support will also provide transportation assistance; childcare for families with multiple children; professional development for early learning providers; parent workshops; kindergarten readiness classes; access to onsite dental, vision and speech screenings; and clothing closet and essentials.

The program provides opportunities for children and families to create connection, significance and belonging in our community. Families with a social network of emotionally supportive friends, family and neighbors often find that it is easier to care for their children and themselves.

To donate by check, please make it out to "Redwood Foundation for Education" with "Grants Pass Early Learning Fund" in the memo line and mail to PO Box 1598, Grants Pass, OR 97528. For more information, please call (541)-474-5709.
