Josephine Library Offers Series of Free Computer Basics Classes at GP Branch

Josephine Community Library is inviting the public to the first session of the 2024 Welcome to Computers series this weekend at the Grants Pass branch.

The series titled "Ebooks and Audiobooks" is set for Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the branch located at 200 NW C Street.

During the first session of the Welcome to Computers series, participants will learn how to use the free Libby app to download thousands of titles of ebooks and audio-books.

Community members are encouraged to bring their own device, whether it's a laptop, smartphone, iPad, Kindle or another wireless device. A limited supply of devices will be available for participants to use during the program.

The next installment of Welcome to Computers "Intro to Computer Use" is set for Saturday, February 10th, and registration is required. After that, "Online Privacy and Security" is scheduled for March 9th and "Digital File Management" is slated for April 13th.

JLCD Director Kate Lasky said they are excited to kick off the year with this new technology program. She added that "no question is too small and no skill is too basic."

This program is offered at no charge and is open to the public. A library card is not needed to participate. For more information about this and other library programs, visit "josephinelibrary.org," e-mail "info@josephinelibrary.org" or call (541)-476-0571.
