Christmas Tree in Downtown GP Decorated and Ready for Tonight's Lighting Ceremony

The Christmas tree in downtown Grants Pass is decorated and ready for the tree-lighting ceremony in the Holiday Plaza this evening.

The theme for this year's event is "Holiday Cosplay Downtown" and people are encouraged to attend wearing holiday-themed cosplay.

The City of Grants Pass has announced that SW G Street will close at 3 p.m. and horse-drawn carriage rides will be available from 4 to 5:30 p.m.. From 5 to 9 p.m., there will be a "Letters to Santa Workshop" at the Downtown Welcome Center on the corner of 6th and G streets.

The choir from Hidden Valley High School will be strolling along G Street from 5:15 to 6 p.m., the HVHS Jazz Band will perform from 6 to 6:30, and the Rogue Singers will perform from 6:30 until 7 when Santa arrives to turn on the lights.

After the tree-lighting ceremony, Santa will be escorted to the Welcome Center for visits until 9 p.m..
