Deputies Snared Pair & Recovered Stolen Car after Weekend Chase in Williams

The Josephine County Sheriff's Office arrested two people and recovered a stolen vehicle after a weekend pursuit in the Williams area.

The Sheriff's Office reports deputies arrested 47-year-old Marc Robert Edwards and 46-year-old Danielle Stanford near the corner of Water Gap and East Fork roads on Friday shortly before midnight.

Deputies said Edwards was reported to be driving a 2011 Mazda sedan at high speeds on East Fork Road, which prompted a response from the Sheriff's Office. Upon contact with Edwards and Stanford, it was determined the car had been reported stolen by the Medford Police Department.

Marc Edwards was transported to Grants Pass and lodged at the Josephine County Jail for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Felony Attempt to Elude Police and Driving While Suspended along with an out-of-county warrant. He was being held without bail.

Danielle Stanford was also charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, but she was cited to appear in court and then released.

The Sheriff's Office notified MPD that the stolen car was recovered and towed into Grants Pass.
