Grants Pass Police Nabbed Motorists for Impaired Driving in Tuesday Incidents

Grants Pass Police arrested two motorists for impaired driving during separate incidents yesterday.

According to the Police Department, the first incident occurred on Tuesday just after midnight when officers pulled over a Nissan Altima driven by 41-year-old Dustin Mark Kanott on SE 7th Street near Voorhies Way.

Police said they stopped Kanott for observed traffic violations and he exhibited signs of impairment. They said he refused to participate in field sobriety tests, so a search warrant was obtained and he was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center for a legal blood draw that documented his impairment. He was lodged at the Josephine County Jail for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and his car was impounded.

The second incident happened on Tuesday around 8:15 p.m. when officers were alerted to a crash at the intersection of NW A and 5th streets near Grants Pass City Hall.

Police said 33-year-old David Max Lamberg lost control of the car he was driving, refused to answer questions on what happened and showed numerous signs of impairment. He was not hurt, but a male passenger was injured from the impact.

Lamberg refused to participate in sobriety tests and requested an attorney. After a search warrant was obtained and Lamberg was taken to the hospital for a legal blood draw, he was lodged in jail for DUII, Reckless Driving and Reckless Endangering. His vehicle was impounded.
