GP Man Collared for Breaking Vehicle Window and Trespassed from City Park

A Grants Pass man was arrested for vandalizing a vehicle near a downtown city park where he was staying. He'll be looking for new overnight accommodations.

According to the Police Department, officers contacted 46-year-old Beau Thomas Beard at Debo Park and placed him into custody on Saturday at 1:36 p.m..

Police said a woman returned to her vehicle after visiting the Grants Pass Growers Market and found her windshield had been broken. Rocks were observed in the parking lot and a witness advised he watched Beard throw rocks at the vehicle.

Beard fled the scene and went to hide at nearby Debo Park. However, an employee of The Glass Forge contacted police after witnessing the suspect urinate in front of some customers while carrying a knife or metal stick. He was quickly arrested.

Beard was lodged at the Josephine County Jail for 2nd-Degree Criminal Mischief. He was also trespassed from the park for 30 days.

The person who witnessed Beard break the window was warned for Scattering Rubbish.
