DA Deciding Whether to Charge Eagle Point Man Who Fled from State Troopers

The Josephine County District Attorney's Office is deciding whether to charge an Eagle Point man for successfully eluding the Oregon State Police in the Wolf Creek area over the weekend.

OSP reports troopers attempted to stop a Honda Accord driven by 34-year-old Kyle Robert Young for reckless driving on Lower Wolf Creek Road at Front Street on Friday at 8:50 p.m..

Troopers said Young refused to yield, sped away and a pursuit was initiated. After several miles, they said the suspect bailed out of the car and ran into the woods. He was not located, but the suspect was identified as Young.

Charges of Felony Attempt to Elude Police, Misdemeanor Attempt to Elude Police and Reckless Driving against Kyle Young were referred to the DA's Office for consideration.

According to OSP, the Honda was unable to be recovered due to the condition of the mountain road.
