Deputies Arrested Man for Impaired Driving at Three Rivers Medical Center
The Josephine County Sheriff's Office received an assist from the Grants Pass Police Department when deputies arrested a motorist for impaired driving at Three Rivers Medical Center.
According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies initially tried to pull over a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Anthony Thomas at the intersection of Fairgrounds Road and Union Avenue on Saturday around 12:15 a.m..
Deputies said they followed Thomas into the ambulance area of the hospital's emergency wing where he finally stopped. They said he displayed strong signs of impairment, performed poorly in field sobriety tests and was placed into custody.
Anthony Thomas was taken to the Grants Pass Sobering Center where he provided a breath sample that was nearly twice the legal driving limit. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Reckless Driving before being cited to appear in court and released.
