Medford P.D. Responds to Armed Woman

A Monday night call to Medford dispatch came from a woman saying she was armed and needs help. The woman, 27-year old Mary Aguilar, was found walking on the sidewalk near West 2nd in Medford carrying a .22 caliber handgun.

Aguilar was acting irrational and did not obey officer’s commands immediately to put down the firearm. Eventually she did put the gun down but continued to refuse officers orders, plus yelling and acting disorderly.

Once Aguilar was unarmed she continued to resist forcing officers to deploy a taser which was effective.

Aguilar is a convicted felon and not allowed to possess firearms. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail with bail set $12,000.

Throughout the encounter she appeared to be under the influence of a stimulant.
