Vehicle/Bicyclist Crash Partially Closes Parkway

A crash between a vehicle and a bicyclist closed the south bound lanes of the Grants Pass Parkway Thursday night at about 8:18.

Eyewitnesses reported the bicyclist, 27-year old Lance Johnson, was riding across the Parkway in the crosswalk against the pedestrian control device while wearing headphones but no helmet.

The vehicle, operated by Keilly Evans, 19, of Grants Pass, was driving the vehicle and entered the intersection under a green light.

Johnson was initially taken to Three Rivers Community Hospital and later transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford where he is in critical but stable condition with a broken left femur and fractured skull.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information should contact Detective Lidey at the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety.
