Rapist who eluded authorities for two years busted by Craig's List ad

A rapist who eluded authorities for two years and was finally caught with the help of Craig’s List was sentenced to 15 years in prison today by Josephine County Circuit Court Judge Pat Wolke.

28-year-old Jeremiah Michael Pool sexually abused his 6-year-old stepdaughter in June of 2010 and after a grand jury issued a warrant for his arrest he fled to the Illinois Valley.

That is where Pool remained until authorities located a Craig’s List ad soliciting sex he had posted complete with a picture and information. Deputy District Attorney Ryan Mulkins says they contacted Pool’s mother and shortly after that Pool turned himself in to authorities in July of this year.

Pool pled guilty to a single count each of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy.
