Crime Stoppers offers reward for Norteno gang member

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who helps authorities locate a Norteno gang member who led police on a high-speed chase Monday.

A Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy was near the intersection of Kirkland and Tolo roads when he noticed a speeding 2001 Volkswagon Jetta. He began pursuing the vehicle that increased its speeds as the two raced toward Gold Hill on Blackwell Road.

Several other deputies joined the pursuit and they watched as the suspect crashed in the 12000 block of Blackwell Road. He then exited the vehicle and ran off into a field. Despite assistance from a K9 Unit and air support the suspect eluded authorities.

Detectives identified the suspect as 21-year-old Toby Alexander Martinez, of Medford, who was involved in a prior high-speed pursuit on Sept. 3 and has a felony warrant for his arrest.

Anyone with information about the location of Martinez should call Crime Stoppers by dialing 1-800-850-0580.
