Grants Pass Department of Public Safety officers responded to a disturbance involving 4 to 6 people in the area of Menegazzi Park at 129 northwest “F” Street last night around seven and found 32 year old Leanne Darby, a transient, suffering from multiple knife wounds. She was transported to Three Rivers Community Hospital in serious condition.
Detectives identified Angela Smith as a suspect and eventually located her at the Crown Market at 225 Southeast 8th Street. Smith was treated and released for minor injuries at Three Rivers Hospital, then arrested and lodged in the Josephine County Jail on an assault 1 charge.
