Wes Brown points out improvements at the fairgrounds as he says farewell to manager's position

Former Josephine County Fairgrounds Manager Wes Brown has released a statement highlighting improvements at the fairgrounds during his tenure and delivering well wishes to fairgrounds stakeholders and county residents.

Brown says that during his 17 months as fairgrounds manager the fairgrounds: reorganized staff and eliminated some outside contractors for an annual cost reduction of $85,000; cut annual lighting costs by $10,000; improved Grants Pass Downs revenue by $30,000, which still ended in a $22,000 deficit; created Motor Metal Madness, which earned a profit for each performance and the fairgrounds went from a deficit of $120,000 to a positive balance of over $166,000 during Brown’s time as manager.

Brown ends his statement by saying, “The fairgrounds has the potential to be a major economic engine for the community.” He felt the right people are in place to continue the fairgrounds success.
