Josephine County has a new health and social service help line

Josephine County has a new health and social service help line provided by the number 2-1-1.

This free service brings citizens into contact with a trained professional who can assist them with finding the correct health or social service provider that meets their particular needs.

United Community Action Network Executive Director Mike Fieldman says, “The world of social services can be confusing. With 2-1-1, trained professionals work on behalf of callers to navigate the complex world of government and nonprofit services.”

UCAN, nonprofit 211info and the Greater Douglas United Way partnered to bring the service to Josephine and Douglas counties.

During times of emergency, the system will provide disaster information.
