Big response to possible fire catches citizen's attention

A big response from emergency services caught the attention of many Grants Pass residents after reports of a possible fire at 220 H St. came in at 8:38 a.m. today.

In total, seven fire trucks, an ambulance and patrol car from Grants Pass Fire Rescue, Rural/Metro Fire Department, American Medical Response and the Department of Public Safety arrived to the scene.

No smoke or flames was seen in the area however and investigators determined the electrical smell that was reported was coming from a failed light ballast.

The ballast was replaced and the situation was resolved.
