Ex-law enforcement needed to solve girl's disappearance

15-year-old Cindy Irene King has been missing from Josephine County for 35 years and if anyone is going to discover her fate it will take an ex-member of law enforcement who wants to volunteer some time.

King was last seen in Grants Pass on July 19, 1977, and very few details remain regarding whom she was with or what she was doing when she disappeared.

The case is under the jurisdiction of the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Gil Gilbertson says it’s been over a year since any of the Office’s cold cases were opened. Several retired detectives had volunteered to take a look at this case and several others but they are no longer volunteering with the Sheriff’s Office.

King would now be 51-years-old and is described as a Caucasian female with brown hair and hazel eyes. At the time of her disappearance she was 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighed 115 pounds and wore a dental retainer. She has a small scar near her right temple, a tattoo near her groin and her arm was previously broken twice. She is also described as having long toes and large teeth.

Anyone with information about the disappearance of King or wants to volunteer to research cold cases can contact the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office by calling 541-474-5123. Volunteers must have law enforcement experience and a background check is required.
