Fairgrounds manager resigns
Josephine County Fairgrounds Manager Wes Brown has resigned from his position and the County Commissioners have chosen an interim replacement.
Commission Chair Simon Hare says the interim manager is very familiar with the fairgrounds. “In light of this resignation, effective tomorrow, we have already taken the steps necessary to appoint somebody. We have Mary Groves, who is on the Fair Board right now, who is pretty familiar with the workings of the fairgrounds. Is going to be taking that position up Oct. 1,” Hare said.
Hare says the process to select a new manager will be vetted.
Hare says Brown brought the fairgrounds into the black but some relationships were strained likely leading to the resignation.
