Criado Delayed; Projected Start, June 18,2013

Jordan Adam Criado’s trial for the murder of his family in the summer of 2011, has been continued from February 12th to June 18th at the request of his defense attorneys. The state did not object due to the complexity of the case.

Criado is charged with 24 counts of aggravated murder and four counts each of murder, first degree manslaughter, and first degree arson. He is accused of killing his 30 year old wife and their four children, ages 7,6,5, and 2, and then lighting multiple fires in their Medford home.

Court records show the trial is slated to last four months and the defense submitted a motion to suppress evidence September 19th. The defense has not filed a petition for an insanity defense although they have told the judge Criado was unable to enter a plea. Judge Lorenzo Mejia entered a not guilty plea on behalf of the defendant.
