Grave Creek Fire Holding at 26 Acres
The Grave Creek fire is still listed at 26 acres thanks to the quick work of fire crews and the welcome cooler temperatures.
The fire is located 11 miles southwest of Glendale in the wild and scenic area of the Rogue River. The Rogue River trail is closed in that area about 1.5 to 2 miles downstream from the Grave Creek boat landing.
The Department of Forestry is reporting the fire is 70 percent contained with about 60 personnel reinforcing the lines with additional support from two helicopters.
Most of the smoke the Rogue Valley is experiencing is coming from the Pole Creek fire in interior Oregon near Sisters. Air Quality in Grants Pass remains good.
