Drunk driver pleads guilty to manslaughter for causing bicyclist's death

A Wolf Creek man pled guilty today in Josephine County Circuit Court to second-degree manslaughter and DUII for hitting and killing a bicyclist in the 200 block of North Frontage Road in August of last year.

The driver, Corey Stephen Garth Higgins, struck 58-year-old Randall True who died at the scene.

Second-degree manslaughter is a Measure 11 crime and carries a mandatory minimum sentence of six years and three months in prison.

Higgins is free until the sentencing hearing, which is still being scheduled.
