Commissioner’s Pass Jail Order in Rare Thursday Vote

Josephine County Commissioners, in a rare Thursday vote that was given public notice yesterday, passed order number 2012-041, authorizing the county jail capacity to not exceed 99 inmates, an increase of 39 from the previous cap of 60 detainees.

The funding was passed at an earlier business session but to legally hold the additional inmates the Sheriff, a District Attorney’s representative and the county legal council all had to sign off on the order which then had to be passed to the Commissioners for final approval.
