Suspect who threatened law enforcement sought in Williams area

Authorities are seeking a suspect who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend in Rogue River last Friday and threatened law enforcement.

Rogue River Police responded to the 100 block of Third Street after receiving reports that the suspect, 34-year-old Elijah John Caldwell, was acting violently. Information garnered at the scene indicated Caldwell pulled his girlfriend out of a bedroom by her hair and then head-butted her before fleeing.

Caldwell called the residence after fleeing and spoke with Rogue River Police Chief Ken Lewis. Lewis said Caldwell declared that he would kill any officer who tried to apprehend him.

The call was subsequently traced to the Williams Highway area of Josephine County.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Caldwell should not approach him and should call 911 immediately.
