Council & Commissioners get Halfway through UGB Agenda

The Grants Pass City Council and The Board of County Commissioners convened a joint meeting in the Fairgrounds Pavilion to consider the approval of the proposed new urban growth boundary as submitted by the steering committee.

The city council was to act on the first two agenda items; ordinances to adopt the urbanization element of the comprehensive plan and to adopt interim policies.

Then the Council and the Board of Commissioners were both to pass an ordinance adopting the new boundary and a resolution authorizing an intergovernmental agreement for the property to be added.

According to a source at the meeting the Council passed the first two agenda items, however more discussion is forth coming from the Commissioners and the next joint meeting will likely be October 23rd.
