GP City Council votes on amendment to development charges

The Grants Pass City Council will vote on an ordinance that would amend the Transportation System Development Charge code at their Wednesday meeting at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at 101 N.W. A Street.

The current TSDC system charges some businesses drastically more money due to the number of people who frequent the establishment such as a fast food restaurant or a drive-thru pharmacy. Councilors asked City Staff to research a “Pass By” option that would consider whether the majority of a business’s traffic merely stops in for a short increment of time thus lowering TSDC costs for the business.

Other items on the agenda include a presentation on the itinerant merchant code and a resolution authorizing closure of certain streets for the Grants Pass Marathon.
