Self Defense is Ruled in White City Shooting

The Jackson County Grand Jury took only 10 minutes to determine Norman Thomas, 66, acted in self defense in shooting 49-year old Mark Corsbie who charged into Thomas’s home.

Thomas fired one shot from his .357 magnum. The bullet traveled through Corsbie’s hand and into his throat severing an artery. He staggered back into the yard and died at the scene.

Blood evidence showed Corsbie had been shot inside the home and a urine analysis showed methamphetamine, methadone, and oxycodone was in his system.

Thomas is retired from the U.S. Air Force and has no criminal history.
