Medford Sterling Savings Bank Robbed

The Sterling Savings Bank on Stewart Avenue in Medford was robbed Wednesday afternoon shortly after 2:00 p.m.

The robber entered the bank at a time when there were no other customers and approached the teller, purporting to be armed although no weapon was seen.

He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and was observed getting into an older, possibly mid 90’s two door hatchback, tan or champagne in color, driven by a woman who may have had red hair. The vehicle was last seen driving north through the alley and turning east onto Belmont Street.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’6”, in his mid 20’s, medium build with short, light colored hair, wearing eyeglasses, a Black Bear diner hat, a long sleeve grey or blue shirt, olive green cargo pants and white tennis shoes.
