Smoke Producing Goff Fire 92% Contained; Air Quality Good: UPDATED

Air quality has remained good in the Rogue Valley according to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality in spite of the smoke from the Goff Fire, visible throughout the area.

Operations on that fire continue to progress well with 92% of the fire declared contained as of Sunday night. Full containment is estimated for late next Tuesday.

The northern perimeter remains the top priority. In that area, including the 700 plus acres on the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, fire lines continue to be completed and quickly followed with mop up. Over 5,000 feet of hose has been deployed which significantly helps with containment.

The Goff fire has accounted for 22,248 acres of the Fort Complex of fires that has consumed 23,623 total acres.

630 firefighters remain attached to the complex supported by 4 helicopters, 9 water tenders, 17 engines and one dozer.
