Jury finds Medford resident guilty of committing sex crimes against his daughter
A Jackson County jury found 50-year-old William Henry Thomas guilty of 26 sex crimes Thursday afternoon for committing years of abuse against his daughter and one of her friends.
Prosecutor David Orr said the abuse involved torture and branding. Thomas eventually made his daughter take methamphetamine, got her addicted and forced her to prostitute herself.
Thomas eventually found another girl, one of his daughter’s friends, and began abusing her as well. The girl’s father had committed suicide and her mother was dying and Orr said Thomas knew she was susceptible to abuse.
Judge Tim Barnack is set to sentence Thomas on Sept. 18 for what will likely be the rest of Thomas’s life.
