Firefighters and logging crew members braved 500 feet of steep, uneven terrain late yesterday morning while rescuing 50-year-old Rob McKenzie after he had been injured by a rolling log near the bottom of an embankment.

Jail beds not utilized until Supervisory Authority finds consensus
The Josephine County Jail is authorized to house 99 inmates but only 72 are jailed today and Friday the Supervisory Authority, an organization comprised of local justice system organizations, will discuss how to best utilize and fill those remaining beds.

Commissioners Re-Affirm S.R.S. Allocation to Rogue Umpqua RAC
County Commissioners passed resolution 2012-033 in August allocating dedicated S.R.S. funds to the Rogue Umpqua Resource Allocation Committee earmarking the money for the Medford Tanker base, and during the Wednesday Business Session re-affirmed that decision.
