GP Police Arrested Man on Detainer per his Parole Officer, Cocaine Possession Charge
Grants Pass Police officers arrested a man per his parole officer Monday night.

The suspect, Brent Corliss, was issued a detainer after officers contacted his parole officer. Corliss was subsequently arrested and consented to a search of his person.

During the search, Corliss started sweating and passed out. He later declined an ambulance, and consented to a search of his vehicle.

Officers found a bag with a white powdery substance in plain view. Upon testing, the substance returned positive for cocaine. Corliss was lodged in the Josephine County Jail on his detainer and Cocaine Possession charge.

GP Police Apprehended Man at Baker Park on Warrant and Meth Possession Charge
Grants Pass Police arrested a man on an out of county warrant at a local park early this morning.

Officers contacted Travis Blake at Baker Park. He was found to have a Jackson County warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Blake consented to a search of his person. Officers located a glass pipe with white residue which field tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.

Blake was taken into custody and lodged at the Josephine County Jail on the warrant and a charge of Meth Possession.

Honor Flight of Oregon to Honor Veterans with Free Washington D.C. Trip
A nonprofit organization aims to honor America’s veterans with a trip to visit memorials dedicated to their service.

Through the commitment of their volunteers and the generosity of supporters, Honor Flight of Oregon aims to recognize those who served during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War with a free trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the places built in their honor.

Participation in an Honor Flight trip gives veterans the opportunity to share this momentous occasion with other comrades, remember the fallen, and share their stories and experiences with other veterans. Honored veterans always travel free of charge.

While initially focused solely on America’s World War II era veterans, Honor Flight Network expanded its mission to include those who served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War eras.

The Honor Flight TLC program also honors veterans of any service era who are critically ill. Transporting approximately 22,500 veterans annually, Honor Flight Network has flown over 300,000 veterans to Washington, D.C. since its inception.

JoCo Sheriff's Office Responded to Stalking Report, Arrested Suspect
The Josephine County Sheriff's Office was alerted to a stalking report Monday afternoon.

Officers received a call from a woman saying her landlord, whom she has a stalking order against, had tried to block her driveway and prevent her from taking her husband to work.

At one point the suspect was hitting the window of the woman's car with his cane and trying to open the door. She returned to the location to get her kids and go stay with a friend. The suspect's son was outside pacing.

Officers contacted the son who took them to the suspect, identified as Donald Park. He was taken into custody and lodged at the Josephine County Jail for Stalking, and on a warrant for Stalking plus two counts each of Attempt to Commit a Felony and Assaulting a Public Safety Officer.

Rural Metro Fire Department Responds to Two Vehicle Collision
Rural Metro Fire Department responded to a car accident last night.

The two vehicle collision on Upper River Road at Pinecrest Drive sent the driver and passenger of one vehicle to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The intersection was closed down while rescuers processed the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was not located. Witnesses reported 3 dogs, a Rottweiler, Akita, and a Weiner dog, had also fled the scene.

Firefighters searched the area using thermal imaging equipment, but didn't find the dogs or the missing driver.

Woman Causing Public Alarm Arrested by GP Police Officers
Grants Pass Police officers were alerted to a woman causing a disturbance downtown Saturday afternoon.

Officers received three separate calls about a woman at the intersection of 7th and G Streets for her threatening and tumultuous behavior. After contacting the suspect, officers placed her into custody.

While being transported to the Josephine County Jail, the woman began kicking and spitting in the back of the patrol car. She was lodged for Second Degree Disorderly Conduct and Third Degree Criminal Mischief.

GP Police Officers Arrested Man at Resting Site for Trespass and Littering
Grants Pass Police officers apprehended a man at a local resting site last night.

Just after 11 p.m. officers arrived at Resting Site 6 on 704 NW 6th Street where they contacted Ryan Burrows in his tent.

He had been trespassed from the site on Friday, but had been observed on security camera footage to be staying on the premises.

Burrows was arrested for Second Degree Criminal Trespass and Offensive Littering. He was lodged at the Josephine County Jail.

GP Police Arrested Man on Siskiyou County Warrant after he Crashed into Vehicle
Grants Pass Police reported to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Redwood Highway and Allen Creek yesterday evening.

Just before 6 p.m. Sunday, a woman reported a man driving a motorcycle had just crashed into her Kia Forte.

Upon arrival, officers took control of the scene and contacted Christopher Martinez. He was wanted on a Siskiyou County Warrant out of California for possession of a controlled substance to Sell and Transport.

Martinez was taken to Three Rivers Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. Once he was discharged, officers took him into custody and lodged him in the Josephine County Jail on the warrant.

He was also cited for Driving While Suspended, Following Too Closely, and Driving Uninsured.

IVFD Responds with AMR-Josephine County to Overturned Vehicle
A traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Redwood Highway and Ken Rose Lane in Cave Junction this morning.

The Illinois Valley Fire District and AMR-Josephine County were dispatched in response to an unknown medical incident.

Upon arrival, responders discovered a skip loader overturned in a ditch. No injuries were reported, and the involved parties were coordinating the removal of the equipment from the scene.

GP Board of Commissioners to Discuss Transfer of County Roads, Library, and More

The Josephine County Commissioners will discuss a county road transfer, the library, and more during their Tuesday workshop. Legal Counsel will provide updates regarding the transfer of jurisdiction over county roads to the City of Grants Pass, the Library, a Cave Junction intergovernmental agreement, and a listing agreement for Dimmick Campus. Updates will also cover the American Medical Response Rate Increase, a contract renewal with the West Publishing Corporation for Legal Counsel and District Attorney Access, the case of Marion County v. Tina Kotek, and amendments to Oregon Health Authority Agreements. The Commissioners will then hear from the District Attorney, Sheriff's Office, Treasurer, Community Corrections, Human Resources, and the Finance Department.
