Recreational Vehicle Destroyed By Fire Last Night Between Grants Pass and Merlin

No one was injured when a motorhome caught on fire last night between Grants Pass and Merlin.

At about 9:53 p.m. Monday, Rural Metro Fire Department and Grants Pass Fire & Rescue responded to a fully-involved motorhome in the 1100-block of Plumtree Lane.

According to Rural Metro Division Chief Austin Prince, the fire had burned for a while prior to firefighters' arrival and most of the recreational vehicle had been consumed before they got there. It appeared the RV belonged to someone besides the property owner and that person was not on scene during the fire.

Prince said it was unclear whether the RV was being used as a residence, but it was evident it was being used for storage. He said no other property was damaged from the fire.
