Wolf Creek Fire Protection District Registers to Raise Money for Body Cameras

The Wolf Creek Rural Fire Protection District has registered for a crowd funding site to raise money for body cameras.

The district in northern Josephine County is working with BodyCameraDonations.com to try to buy 10 body cameras for their crews. This is one of the first public safety agencies in the state working on a project like this.

The district's director of operations, Sean Reinert, said the department continues to have problems with people interfering with firefighters on and off scene. He said an increase in calls and decrease in safety have become a real problem.

The body cameras would be law enforcement quality police cameras.

The district has already started to look into what policies they would put in place if the body cameras became a reality at the department.

Reinert said their policy would be that firefighters need to use the body cameras on every call or whenever they make contact with the general public.
