Council Primes for Joint UGB Meeting
The Grants Pass City Council utilized their Monday workshop to prime for the Urban Growth Boundary expansion hearing to be held jointly with the Josephine County Commissioners with the goal of reaching an agreement at that meeting.
No agreement has been reached between the two bodies that must submit identical agreements to the state.
Both the rural and urban planning commissions have separate plans and the area of disagreement appears to be area employment lands, including farm resource and commercial agriculture enterprise zones, and whether they should be included in the new boundary.
The areas in question are in the northeast and northwest edges of the proposed additions.
The Joint meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 18th, in the Fairgrounds Pavilion.
