Trust Funds allow Jackson County Library to Offer Computer Courses
The Kenneth A. and Lucille D. Hulburt Family Trust left $2.5 million to the Jackson County Library Services and the interest from the trust this year amounts to $124,617 which will provide materials and programs for computer courses this year.

Medford Man Faces 24 Additional Sex Abuse Charges
Michael Dean Murray, 59, of Medford, already jailed on sex charges was arraigned Thursday on 24 additional sex charges and pornography. He pleaded not guilty to all charges in Jackson County Circuit Court.

Dry Winter Keeps Skiers & Snowboarders on Hold
The Mt. Ashland Ski Area, normally open by the beginning of Christmas break, remains closed with the park’s web cam showing a lot of bare ground. The lack of snow is putting a financial hit on the ski park. The slopes opening coinciding with school’s winter break can account for 20 percent of the park’s annual revenue.

Negotiations for Medford’s Proposed Elevated Housing Project Stymied
The agreement between the City of Medford and local developers to build ‘SkyBox” has come undone. ‘Skybox’ is the code name for a proposed 25-unit apartment complex to be built above a parking lot on Central avenue that received an enthusiastic response from the Medford Urban Renewal Agency last summer.
