Monday, the first approved medical marijuana dispensary in Jackson County is set to open. Last Monday the Gold Hill City Council approved a pair of new ordinances defining how the dispensary will operate.

Jon Allen Firehammer, 40, of O’Brien, has been charged with 2nd and 3rd degree assault, both felonies, along with a misdemeanor charge of DUII and two counts of reckless endangerment after being suspected of being drunk when he lost control of his Dodge pickup and crashed into an oncoming Ford Mustang Saturday on North River Road outside of Gold Hill.
