U.S. Representative Greg Walden will hold a cybersecurity workshop tomorrow in Medford. Citizens and small businesses will be able to learn about rising cyber threats, how they can help protect themselves against cyber theft of their personal information and assets.

 

The Grants Pass City Council and the Josephine County Commissioners next scheduled meeting to attempt to agree on the new urban growth boundary is scheduled for October 23rd.

 

The Forest Service is selling the historic Butte Falls Ranger’s House. Built in 1939 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the house and detached garage exemplify the “Cascadian/rustic” style of architecture used for Forest Service administrative buildings during the era. The house has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

 

The north bound lane of Vine Street at Morgan Lane will be closed to traffic this Monday and Tuesday for storm drain installation.

 

The Upper Rogue Cooperative Travel Management Area, Green Dot, road restriction will begin October 10 and extend through October 19. The objectives of the Green Dot restrictions are to promote quality hunting, minimize harassment of wildlife, maintain adequate bull escapement, and protect soils and wildlife habitat.

 

Jose Manuel Macias, 21, is back in Jackson County’s jail on $750,000 bail facing charges of attempted murder, first degree attempted assault and many other charges stemming from what the Medford Police are characterizing as a gang related shooting March 27th at an apartment complex.

 

The Cow Creek Band of the Umpqua Indian Tribe told a Medford Audience that if the Secretary of Interior approves the Coquille Indian Tribe’s request to place recent land purchases in Medford in federal trust they would immediately file a lawsuit.

 

A search warrant was served in the 400 block of Table Rock Road in Central Point at 1:00 p.m. Friday and yielded evidence linking Richard Aguiar and Miranda Ramirez to the Ashland burglaries earlier this week where a stolen BMW was used to ram the entrances to two businesses where cash registers and computers were stolen.

 

Jackson County along with the cities of Ashland, Eagle Point, Rogue River and Shady Cove are asking for the public’s input to improve the Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan.
