Businesses get creative to help libraries

US Bank and the Grants Pass Clinic have developed unique efforts to bolster memberships for the Josephine Community Libraries during the organization’s Fall Membership Drive.

Grants Pass Clinic is offering a free membership to every employee who signs up for a library card before the end of the membership drive.

Tim Roberts M.D., a physician with Grants Pass Clinic, says, “Without libraries, new doctors wouldn’t be interested in moving to our area, residents of our county wouldn’t have access to resources they could otherwise not afford and our community would cease to grow and prosper.”

US Bank has also started a friendly competition between employees at its two Albertson’s branches. The branches are holding a membership drive and the branch that acquires the most memberships is designated the winner. US Bank representatives say the inspiration for the drive is the bank’s tradition of giving to the community.

The Josephine Community Libraries Fall Membership Drive ends Nov. 30.
