Blackout Defense Presented in Toddler Assault
Thursday Damien Gulick’s defense team presented a dissociation blackout as the reason for the assault on his two-year-old stepson in early December of 2012.
A professional counselor testified a person can become psychologically separated from their environment during a dissociation episode.
Gulick had previously been diagnosed with PTSD and had two bouts of testicular cancer plus he had shoulder surgery in the fall of 2012.
The trial has been placed on hiatus until June 25th. By agreement Judge Thomas Hull is hearing the case without a jury.
