Accused Rogue River murderer pleads not guilty
Accused Rogue River murderer 65-year-old Susan Monica pled not guilty to two charges of murder and abuse of a corpse Tuesday in Jackson County Circuit Court.
Monica is accused of killing her former handyman 56-year-old Robert Haney as well as a second unidentified victim. Detectives began investigating the case after Monica allegedly used Haney’s Oregon Trail Card at area stores.
Monica requested during the hearing to have her pigs butchered and donated to the Rogue River Community Center but whether or not the donation will be accepted remains undecided. Jackson County Sheriff’s Office investigators are still continuing to visit Monica’s property at 9184 W. Evans Creek Road.
