Grants Pass City staff this week met with representatives from Cummins regarding the damage a city fire truck received when, after maintenance was performed, was left outside in freezing temperatures. The Cummins representative was sent from Seattle and according to City Manager Aaron Cubic’s report it was made clear the city was unwilling to accept anything less than full satisfaction. The representative indicated he would provide a written proposal.

OSP and Sheriff’s Office Thursday incidents
A semi-truck and trailer struck several posts and took out a five feet section of guardrail on I-5 at milepost 72 northbound. The driver was cited for failure to maintain his lane.

Two Washington Men Jailed When I-5 Traffic Stop Yields 45lbs. of Pot
Two Washington residents are in the Jackson County Jail after a State Trooper discovered 45 pounds of marijuana and a quarter pound of hash during an I-5 traffic stop near Central Point last night.

OSP Detectives Investigate Jackson Co. Deputy Side-swipping Armed Suspect with Cruiser.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has requested the OSP Criminal Investigation Division look into an incident that occurred early Thursday afternoon in which a Deputy’s marked cruiser sideswiped a man armed with a gun.

Judge sentences Huddleston to life imprisonment for killing his wife
Judge Lorenzo Mejia sentenced 45-year-old Bourne Huddleston to 25 years to life in prison Thursday for the murder of his wife, 34-year-old Kristy Huddleston.
