Dutch Bros Coffee to raise funds for ALS
Dutch Bros Coffee and M.D.A. are raising funds for ALS research, and this year Dutch Bros has set up an on-line website danesdrive.org, to honor co-founder Dane Boersma and his fight with ALS. This event will be Friday, May 9th at all 129 Dutch Bros coffee stands and all proceeds from coffee sales on that day will go to ALS research. You can donate on-line at danesdrive.org any time. |

Masonic Lodge to serve breakfast once a month
The Grants Pass Masonic Lodge is serving breakfast on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 8am to 11am. On the menu: link sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee, juice, milk and all-you-can-eat sourdough pancakes. The cost is $6; children 6 and under eat for free. The lodge is at 320 N.W. E Street. Disabled American Veterans to meet on Saturday
Chapter and Unit 11 Disabled American Veterans will meet Saturday, May 10th. Meetings are held every second Saturday at the Fruitdale Grange, corner of Parkdale Drive and Rogue River Highway. The 15th annual Habitat For Humanity Golf Scramble is being held Saturday, May 10th at Dutcher Creek Golf Course. The two-person scramble has a shotgun start at 8am with lunch and prizes included in the entry fee. Saturday, May 10th the Grants Pass High Orchestra is bringing back those great Krispy Kreme donuts. Sales start at 9am and will go until 2pm or until sold out at the following locations: Umpqua bank downtown across from the post office, Human Bean on F Street and Walgreens on Union Avenue. Proceeds will help send the Grants Pass High School Orchestra students to Washington D.C. in June of this year. |

Carwash will benefit American Cancer Society
There will be a Relay For Life fundraiser this Saturday, May 10th at the SOFCU, South branch on Harbeck Road in Grants Pass from 10am to 5pm. Foothill Blvd closed for bridge replacement
Foothill Boulevard is closed at milepost .7 in Grants Pass due to the replacement of the bridge crossing Jones Creek. The road will be closed in both directions at the bridge through June 15th 2008. Informational signs are posted and a detour for through traffic diverts vehicles onto Agness Avenue to Spaulding Avenue to Ament Road. |

Rec Dept offers after-school tennis classes
The Grants Pass Parks and Recreation Department is offering after school tennis for beginning and intermediate tennis players, ages 4 to 18 years of age at Gilbert Creek Park. Classes begin Monday, May 12th and will be Monday to Thursday from 3:30 – 5pm. The cost ranges from $12 to $18 per week depending on age. Register at the Grants Pass Recreation Office, 101 N.W. Kelly Parmenter has recently been diagnosed with an in-operable brain tumor, which has caused a condition called Diabetes Insipidus, sometimes called Water Diabetes.
